Marcel migrated from Chile, South America and completed a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Queensland in 2013. After graduating, he moved with his wife to the Northern Territory and worked in the medical, surgical, and intensive care units at Alice Springs Hospital. After spending two years with his family in the Red Centre, he then moved to New South Wales with the dream of becoming a Physiotherapist. He finally completed a Bachelor in Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Sydney in 2019, and decided to call Western Australia home.
Since he moved to WA, he gained experience in the musculoskeletal field working in private practice and hospital outpatient settings in Collie and Bunbury. Marcel then joined the Biosymm’s team to pursue a career in Occupational Health as an Onsite Physiotherapist at BHP Port and Rail, Port Hedland.
He has a special interest in combining his nursing and physiotherapy skills and experience to perform pre-employment assessments for prospective workers living in the South West region. Additionally, he has a particular interest in treating shoulder and lower back injuries.
When Marcel is not at work, he enjoys practicing jiu-jitsu, doing HIIT workouts, riding his mountain bike, and spending time at the beach with his wife and two young children.
