Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
You don’t need a referral to book with Biosymm physiotherapy, but if you do come to us as part of a Medicare plan, please bring your referral to your initial appointment.
How long is a physiotherapy appointment?
Initial appointment – 45 minutes
A 45-minute assessment to understand where and how you are experiencing pain and the details of any injury.
Our experienced physiotherapists will work with you to develop an individualised treatment plan with hands-on care and evidence-based rehabilitation.
This can include manual therapy and providing you with exercises and information on how to support your recovery and manage your pain and injury.
Follow up appointment – 30 minutes
Follow-up consultations involve re-assessment of your injury, manual therapy techniques to reduce pain and a review and progression of your exercises.
Long appointment/consultation – 1 hour
If you have a complex or long-standing injury you may require a long appointment. This ensures enough time to listen to your story, provide a thorough assessment and develop a comprehensive treatment plan. This is also required if you have two different injuries.
Speak to our friendly team if you’re unsure about which appointment is right for you.
